'Balancing on a Tightrope' by Megan Grant, is an exhibition that celebrates the nostalgia of childhood places and objects. Intricate layers of colour and pattern are used to evoke the enduring wonder attached to her earliest memories of grandparent’s homes and gardens. Ceramics, textiles, plants, and furnishings appear as vivid and abstracted forms.
Much like balancing on a tightrope, Grant strives to piece together the real and the imagined, and her process echoes this. Dancing between considered light footedness and playful abandon.
